Government of Uttarakhand has entered into MoUs with Central Generating Cos. (NHPC, NTPC & others), State Generating Co. (UJVNL) and Private Generating Cos. (GMR, GVK, Reliance & others) for development of Hydropower up to a total capacity of 6000 MWs (till 2010-11) in Yamuna, Bhagirathi, Alaknanda and Sharda river basins.
