Objective
Power HR Forum, an association of eleven central sector Power PSUs is hosting the fifth Inter Power PSUs competition titled Quest for Excellence (Q4E) during July 2008. This is an annual event being organized with the following objectives.

• To develop the competency of collating and analyzing business intelligence and strategies;
• To develop general management skills among Junior / Middle level Executives;
• To promote skill in literature survey and research;
• To encourage creativity and innovative thinking;
• To encourage teamwork and build team spirit; and
• To enhance presentation skills.

Eligibility

The competition is open to the employees in member organizations of Power HR Forum as well as to other utilities in Indian Power Sector.

Each organization can send a one team comprising three members up to the level of Dy. General Manager or its equivalent.

Theme for the year 2008
The theme of Q4E – 2008 is “Building Leadership – Strategies, Policies & Processes” Participants to focus on either of the following or both.

• Pertaining to own organization
• Power Sector as a whole.

 
The Competition
The competition is in two phases.

• In the first phase each participating team is required to send a written paper within 3000 words. The team will submit one soft copy (preferably in a CD in MS Word) and four hard bound copies.
• The paper shall preferably be based on new ideas and innovative approach supported by analysis of data from pertinent sources, including organizational examples wherever applicable.
• The first page of the written presentation shall be in the format given below:

• The content of the presentation should maintain a logical flow as given in the detailed guideline enclosed. Click for details.
• In the second phase, all participating teams shall make a presentation before a jury comprising eminent persons. This will comprise 15 minutes for the presentation and 10 minutes for clarification to queries of Panel of Judges and others. It is essential that all the team members participate in making the presentation. Computer Projection system would be provided at the venue of the oral presentations.

Evaluation Criteria
A Panel of three Judges constituted by the Forum whose decision shall be final and binding shall evaluate the written paper as well as the oral presentation. Out of 100 marks written paper shall carry 70 marks and oral presentation shall carry 30 marks as per following details:

Participation Fee
A participation fee of Rs. 20,000/- (*) per team is to be sent by the concerned organization to the Forum Sectt. The mode of payment will be Draft / Cheque (payable at par) in favour of “Power HR Forum” (payable at New Delhi). PAN of Power HR Forum is AAAJP0712G
(*) Power HR Forum is registered as a not-for-profit society having exemption certificate under Income Tax Act
